"The Arts, Education and Law ( AEL ) Group undertake outstanding scholarship and ground-breaking research that makes a major contribution to society. The Group has around 400 academic staff and 600 higher degree research ( HDR ) students. Between 2012-2015, staff in the AEL Group were awarded over $32 million in external competitive research income, and generated over 2500 research publications, many of these in top international peer-reviewed journals or taking the form of exhibitions or performances."

The Centre complements the long established Queensland Conservatorium Research Centre (QCRC) at Griffith and encompasses fields such as visual arts, design, film, animation, games design and creative writing."
